LS and LT satisfaction
So i have seen a few post about how people bought a V6 camaro, and didn't like it, and are now either buying a different car all together, or getting an SS.
So my question is what did you drive before? and was it only the power that left you asking for more? I have a 4th gen camaro LT 3.4 with a killer 160 horse power and 200 torque, and a four speed auto. So i am thinking the 5th gen will be an upgrade in all areas. also, those of you that are happy with your V6s would be awesome to hear from too.

Absolutely no regrets! 304 HP out of a V-6 is cool with me. Insurance is lower, price is lower, gas mileage better.
If I got the SS I would have had to sell the Chevelle! If I get bored with the performance down the road, there's always power adders!

I'm very happy with the V6. Coming from a foreign econobox.
I use the V6 as a DD (as often as I have to -- I mostly work from home so I have to make excuses to go out most days, lol). I need the back seats for kids, and the gas and insurance savings make the car worth it (as well as initial sticker price savings). This car is a big jump in power for me. It's got plenty of power to get me into enough trouble as it is. The only racing I do is in my kids' heads (is that car faster than this one? repeat, repeat, repeat, lol). |

Well before I had owned an Evo VIII, 98 Mustang GT, BMW 540 and 328, A 300C and a turbo'd 94 Celica GT. No, it wasnt just the lack of power, it was the overall feel of the car, just wasnt that fun to drive IMO. An auto V6 probably wasnt the best choice either but I cant be assed working a clucth in heavy traffic. However, the power and handling issues wont be a problem for most people just wanting a cool car to cruise around in and maintain good gas mileage.

Do a search, you'll find lots of peeps that are totally in love with our V-6s. Mine is absolutely perfect! I have not loved a car this much since I drove my 1993 Camaro off the show room floor. I can't keep it under 50mph now, the only reason I would get a V-8 is if I drove the Interstate everyday to work, which I do not. I'm not even sure you need one then. I gas this thing every week as it is compared to almost 2 weeks before!
The 2LT is the bomb. PS: Donna, I beat you to it! ::happ yanim:

I stepped out of an Infiniti Q45 luxury car that had a 340HP 333TQ V8 and into my V6 Camaro. I have no regrets even with the many amenities I gave up. Could have bought the V8, didn't want it, have no regrets.

I LOVE IT !
it all depends what you are looking for, it's my DD and I already have 3300 miles in 2 1/2 months, If you are looking for a weekend/pleasure ride I would opt for the V8, nothing like good American HP, I did not because I already have a V8 (08 Corvette) and needed a economical DD (29MPG/87 Octane gas) AND you may not belieive this, but I think the front fascia looks better then the V8(flame suit on), closer to the original concept not sorry I purchased this car, would do it all over again just not at MSRP this time |

thanks for the responses,
and as far as searching, i did. and i have read most of those and the ones suggested already, and im sure ive posted on them too. but none of them really say why people didnt like the V6 other than "it wasnt enough" but that doesnt tell you anything really, im sure if you move down from a zr1, the SS might not be "enough" just wanted to get more specific answers

I for one am glad I bought a V6 for my daily driver. Having a chance to open her open is rare enough that a V8 would have been a waste $4K+ in my eyes. Plus the V6 has enough to be exciting when you do get a chance to get on it and, like someone else mentioned, if I get the itch for more power there will be/are mods out to accommodate.
