It's the steelies that are slowing it down. Order the RS package and you get a bump up in speed with the limiter rated higher..

Plus, 118mph is still fast, and the car won't be doing that at a track, so big deal?

It's the cheapest and also most comfortable ride.
So there are upsides to the LS. A good solid car... |

It's limited to the rating of the stock tires it comes with which on the LS and LT1/2 are T-rated (118mph). The RS pkg will have a higher rating of course.

That's true, it is for the 1LT though which does bump up the overall price..

Unless you buy higher rated tires, you would not want to go much faster than 118...

I routinely go more than 118 at our track- it's got curves an a straightaway. |

Why would you take an LS to the track? You want to do performance oriented stuff I'd say you probably should have got the V8...

So you are buying an LS model to go around a track? Which either way I would assume you would be modifying for that purpose, in which case I still fail to see how this is an issue.

...a 300 HP car with IRS might be fun going around the track...as far as the electronic limiter I suppose it can be modified- but it will cost whatever the techies want...
