Why can't they ship the early VIN #'s?

I am so tired of getting the run around from the idiots at GM. I called the 800 #yesterday to see if I could get any info. My vin is 832 and they gave me some bs about not being able to track it. The only thing they could tell me was that is was showing to be in Michigan on Thurs. and they were still doing quality inspections. How long does it honestly take for a second inspection? I then asked the big question as to why the later VIN's like 2637 are being shipped and received, but the earlier VINS have just disappeared. The guy had no answer for me and said he had the same question from someone else the other day. Even if there was something wrong with the first ones to require a second inspection, why have they shipped out later VINs?????? They should have held them too!!!!!!!!! It is just not right that these people have not had to wait as long as the first pre-orders!!!!!!! It has been 6 months since I ordered! I am so tired of waiting and trying to track mine!!!!!!

Body control module reflash. They won't ship your car until it gets reflashed. The newer cars do not need a reflash since they updated their main system with the latest software - thus newer cars aren't being held up.

I think the best point you made, wa sthat you are tired of trying to track it...GM should have made it easier for us to track these cars. Sitting in the dark is not right, and I will not do it again, I will find a different way to get my next new released vehicle.

Welcome...........

And I feel your pain along with several others on here...........all I can say is that if you are a drinker, stock up and wait it out. #296 for me. trm0002 is #74, first day build.

It's stuck in another thread, but they are doing some reflashes on the BCMs for the window indexing issues along with whatever QC tasks are being done.

I see your point on holding the latter cars until the first ones are delivered, but unfortunately, life is not fair and GM is gonna ship whatever they can to generate income for themselves and the dealers. If a car is ready, it's going.

The dealers (most) don't really care about your car until they get invoiced for it because until then, it's not costing them anything. So most of them will be no help and as I learned yesterday, my dealer has no way of tracking a car, period. When it shows up, it's there. That's all I can go on for that.

I wish you luck and hey, look at it like this. All the rest of the cars are only being looked at once, ours are being looked at twice or more. Hopefully, that will make them better cars to own for a long time..........at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Oh yeah, I WON'T be doing this crap again..........the main reason I ordered was to make sure the lot jockeys and everyone and his brother at the dealership didn't get the chance to drive the hell out my car before I buy it.

They can say what they want, but new cars like this that are for the lot get the hell drove out of them.

I totally agree NVMY68SS. I didn't want a worn out car either that has been sat in a hundred times. You made a good point, hopefully ours will be better than the later cars!!!!!! I plan on keeping mine as a collector car.

Did you ever think that GM might have ro replace those computers because they won't accept a flash? Oh! And just so you don't start any more rumors..... Replacement of the computer was just a thought, may not be true at all!

There were door insert issues, as well.
I believe that door inserts were not available for the earlier cars, so the plant has to wait for those to come in and then be installed.
