Bummer! That sucks. I had my spoiler off last week removing my stripes, no issues with the paint. I feel lucky after seeing yours. Good luck with everything.

I don't know how bad the damage is on mine, but I can see a little peeling around the edge on the right side. Is there anyway I can get this gasket set sent to me, my local bodyshop, or my dealer and just do it myself? Or do you have to pay for it?

Thanks guys. I just wanted to put it out there so if there's anyone else like me who was thinking that the install would be easy would know what to be prepared for.

I did not have one paint chip on my trunk when I installed my RKSport spoiler

That is exactly what was happening with mine. If you want, you can open the trunk and pull the plugs (4 visible, 2 on either side) and see if the nuts are loose. If they are, I would leave them and drive to the dealer and explain the nuts on the spoiler came loose causing it to ruin the paint on the trunk lid.

It did take a couple of days for mine, but they covered it, painted the trunk lid and did the update. If it goes into the stripe area, I'm sure they will get you new stripes as well. If you have stripes.

Just got off the phone with a local dealer and they are going to repaint the decklid and GM will give me a loaner car during the process. That is part of the TSB. I opted out of them puting the factory spoiler back on because I am adding the RKsport and he said that was ok with him.

Glad to hear everything worked out for you, it was the right thing for them to do, and good luck with your new spoiler.

I have a similar situation (kinda).

I installed a factory spoiler on mine, no issues. A month later, I hade custom stripes painted on which required them to remove the spoiler. Anyway, I have similar pait wear coming up on both ends now. I assumed it must have been my paint guy's fault but maybe not?

At any rate, I'm probably not covered by the TSB because of the mods, right?

This is EXACTLY what my problem is. I think I'll just repaint it myself (I work at the body shop where my stripes were painted on) and get the gromit kit from the dealer, or come up with something.

Just wanted to show you guys some pics of my freshly painted trunk and my new spoiler. Actually they didn't repaint it but he called it a color blend. Dealer keeped the car for two whole days but like a said before they gave me loaner car. Let me know what you think.
