Solo Performance Axle Back with J pipes & Mach XL (L99) with J Pipes

AXLE BACK with J PIPES

All of us at Solo Performance are proud to announce our 5th Generation Camaro V8 Axle-Back-With/J-Pipes stainless steel exhaust kit. We have worked long and hard perfecting this exhaust kit. What it offers is a deep, rich, raw American Muscle sound on the outside while being non-invasive on the inside. With this exhaust kit you can have your cake and eat it too, fierce on the outside, tame on the inside, the difference is staggering.

The Solo team has worked very hard and we happy to say that we achieved one exhaust kit that works equally as well on both the V8 Standard and V8 Automatic. We have conquered the inherent “trouble” areas that the V8 Camaro can cause with exhaust systems. Sixth gear cruising is no problem with the 6-speed and it’s just as smooth on the highway or in town with the automatic. The octave bump between 8cyl and 4cyl on the auto’s is comfortable and nice. We have tuned our J-Pipes to take care of all these trouble areas on both cars. What’s left is the raw American Muscle sound that these cars were meant to have!

The icing on the cake is the “Decel Burble” created by this axle back exhaust kit on both the V8 auto’s and standards. The raw, mean, bassy, burble of the exhaust on deceleration is sure to make you smile.

Price: $531.79 shipped

Specifications
  • Tips: 4.5" T304 polished stainless steel tips.
  • Pipes: 2.5" T409 mandrel bent exhaust pipe.
  • Clamps: T304 removable band clamps.
  • J-Pipes: Adjustable J-Pipes to ensure that you're exhaust note is proper.

Recommendation: Axle-Back VS. Cat-Back

If you're looking for a wonderful exhaust note and you're not interested in future mods (high flow converters, headers, intake etc.) the Axle-Back exhaust kit is definitely a great choice for you. If you already have or are thinking of doing future mods to your V8 Camaro, the Cat-Back exhaust makes more sense because it will allow the exhaust to take advantage of the mods by eliminating the stock restrictive mid section. Our Mach XL with J Pipes (Cat back for L99 Camaro Auto) or our Mach X (Cat back for LS3 Camaro Standard) exhaust kits have a slightly deeper, richer tone than the V8 Axle Back with J Pipes, however the axle back has more decal burble.

MACH XL with J PIPES

All of us at Solo Performance are proud to announce our 5th Generation Camaro V8 Automatic stainless steel Mach XL with J Pipes converter back exhaust kit. This is a 100% BOLT-ON kit. We have worked long and hard perfecting this exhaust kit. What it offers is a deep, rich, Raw American Muscle sound on the outside while having a non-invasive exhaust note on the inside. This exhaust kit sounds like a well done 60’s muscle car on the outside while being very tame on the inside, the difference is staggering.

All of us at Solo Performance take customer satisfaction very seriously. We have had many wonderful reviews over the last few years in regards to our first design Mach XL cat back exhaust system. We have also had the occasional complaint about highway drone. Mixed reviews are very concerning to us and the difference from one Camaro to the next is puzzling. We have been waiting to come across a V8 Auto that sounds bad with our exhaust kit on it and about a month ago we did. It’s incredible how the same Solo kit sounds great on one car and disappointing on another. Once the fine line between “good” and “bad” is crossed the “bad” definitely stands out.

We went to work on this car using some of our latest J-Pipe technology. We use this on several other cars including the V6 Camaro. Just as we had hoped, our current Mach XL exhaust kit with the addition of our properly tunes J-Pipes cancels out all the unwanted frequencies. There’s not even a hint of highway or in town drone. The 8 cyl to 4 cyl transition is smooth and non-invasive while the 4 cyl mode on its own is pleasant with a bit of gurgle. We were ecstatic to get the 4 cyl mode by itself to sound as good as it does considering it’s going through free flow, dual, 2 ½” mandrel bent exhaust.

The 8 cyl mode offers a deep, rich, Raw American Muscle tone that was meant for a car like this. Mean and fierce on the outside and tame on the inside is what Solo’s Mach XL with J Pipes exhaust kit has to offer.

Price: $959.79 shipped

  • Clamps: T304 stainless steel removable band clamps.

Existing customers with first design Mach-XL kit from Solo

We appreciate your confidence and support in choosing our product. We want you to know that if you’re not 100% happy with your current Mach-XL exhaust kit, we haven’t forgotten about you. The only difference in our latest design kit is the addition of the J-Pipes which consist of four T304 band clamps, 2 J pipes and 2 adjustable end caps. If you would like to purchase these J-Pipes we are only looking to cover some of our costs and we could ship them to you for $85 a pair. A shop would have to line up the J’s and mark where to cut the hole. After the hole is cut into your existing tail pipe the J-Pipe would have to be welded on. If you live close to one of our stores (Buffalo to Toronto) we would be happy to do the install for the same $85.

Nothing comes out of the J pipes...its the sound waves that goes there ..where they get illuminated = NO DRONE

Only sound waves enter the J pipes...no fumes will exit them...they are capped on the ends. The J pipes are actually cool to the touch after you drive because of the fact that only sound waves enter them. We have never had any problems with heat/fumes and the J pipes. The setting of the J pipes will eliminate certain frequencies of drone. We used our sound meter to see the point at which drone occurs, and then tuned the J pipes to cancel out that frequency. I hope this clears things up

Unfortunately we already ran a month long group buy on the V6 catback a while ago. They sell very well so if we ran another now, it would open up a big can of worms to those who have recently bought for full price. Our group buys are used to introduce the new product to the forum, and then we keep our kits very competitively priced. Keep in mind, all of our pricing also includes shipping. Also, the cost of stainless steel has increased, but we have decided to keep our pricing the same at this point. I hope you understand Thanks and have a great day.

Steve

We'd have to get another Camaro in our store to test that. I would give you my professional opinion and say that it will add about 15% volume and still have no drone since we have the J pipes on there It will also deepen the exhaust note a bit, which is a good thing
