Also are there any downsides if the intake and exhaust lifts are identical?

Good to hear some real life feedback about the CheaTR cam. Still wait for some answers from Thunder Racing ...
On the other hand Livernois is great when it comes to customer service and communication - they where a big help!

As for the LS9 with 1.8 rockers I'm quite not shure. It's definately an interesting alternative but if I got this right 1.8 rockers will increase the lifts. If this wouldn't matter I'd choose the GT11 as well into my top 4.
The LS9 cam with 1.8 or 1.85 roller rockers still wont have near the lift of the Gt11. I think it will be around .600" with those rockers. As far as lift is concerned with the GT11 cam I think as long as you have a properly matched spring the lift wont be a problem. I have PRC EHT springs with mine which easily handles the lift. I was also pleasently surprised by the fact that the valvetrain noise is no louder and maybe even quieter than stock L99. I really dont think LPE would put this cam in so many warrantied packages if they thought it would be a problem for reliability. As far as I remember this is the same cam they put in installed engine packages with 3yr/36k mile warraties. How many high performance engine packages can you think of that have that kind of warranty?

From what I heard that car had zero lope. I mean the exhaust was louder than stock but any HP cam is going to make the exhaust much louder. I think that just might be the cam for you if you dont want to go GT11.

True. I think I'll give that one a try.

The only thing I would like to know is if there are any downsides of identical intake and exhaust lifts ?
The Livernois 1C has: .600"/.600"

The tuner cannot take out as much lope as you think, unless you are willing to run it in open loop, and richen it up at idle. Fuel will really calm it down, if you throw some at it. Idling at 13.0-14.0 will cut the chop down quite a bit, but it wont totally solve/cure/eliminate the lope.

Louis - thanks for chiming in. Great post!

That's what I expected (Although quite a few dealers told me that most lope can be tuned out). So I guess the time spent was well worth to find some mild cams which come from factory with almost no lope.

Based on the youtube clips - the Livernois 1C is the most stealth sounding cam out of this four. Not shure if based on the specs the CheaTR should sound even more stealth.

Right now it seems like the 1C will win.

They may be talking about "surge" which is in gear, rolling at low RPM. "Lope" is idling, in neutral, think "brapity brapity brapity".....

Both can be minimized, but not entirely eliminated.

Yes I know. For this project "no lope" is the most important thing.

So which one would you choose?

You do the same thing by selecting a CAM based on how much lope it has as opposed to best power under the curve. Most people are dopes and if you putting an exhaust on it anyways then they wouldn't know whether the lope was a CAM or exhaust.

Just tell em you gutted the cats.

Unfortunately the experts at the road traffic licensing department over here arent "dopes". So trust me, the car shouldn't sound like it's cammed.
