Call your insurance agent for quote on a used SS. My new SS vert was less than the RS V6.

but a SS, sadly, is out of my insurance range...
if you enjoy speed really give the SS thought.. my insurance went up $23.49 from a 2LT to a 2SS/1LE.. everything the same except the addition of nav... less than $5 a month

link to my snapshot of insurance.. sorry can't figure how to embed with iPhone

what may hurt you is the gas.. i went from avg 20 mpg to 16.5

This. My insurance was *GASP* 12 bucks a month more for the 2SS/RS than I was paying on my '02 Monte Carlo SS... I was blown away by how inexpensive it was... unless you have tickets... or warrants... or something like that.

Also just to chime in on insurance mine went up $9 a month from my 12 LS to my 10 SS. Depending on your age /record it may not be as bad as you think!

Also if you want the RS package as you stated above, do not (I repeat) DO NOT settle for a car without it! You will kick yourself and regret it every time you see a car with the RS on it...

yep. all the time i hear how

-"coupes are more expensive"
-"v8 is more expensive"
-"it's a sporty car...more expensive"

camaro came out $200 cheaper than a Honda accord..

from what I've heard i thought an accord would be the safest go for insurance.. plain regular sedan..

insurance guy told me it was due to cheaper parts and the camaro being around for 5 years.. maybe it's great safety rating played a factor, idk..

yes it does throw up red flags.. i would try to get more info..
when i traded in my car, i checked the listing to see how my old buddy was doing.. they had pictures of an automatic SIM LS camaro instead of stick AGM 2LT..

and don't forget to check out used SS's

.:edit:.
oh nvm.. angry said it was in an accident.. don't check it out.. instead look for something else *cough**cough*SS*cough*

I was just giving my theory on why it had the SS bumper and being sold as a used car with only 40 miles on it....

If no police report is filed or no insurance claim is made there is a great possibility it would never show on a Carfax. I have seen cars that the whole front had been replaced and you could tell it had other accident damage but Carfax says it had never been in an accident...

Yeah, I wouldn't touch that , I paid $26,000 for my 2011 RS brand new from the dealer. For that price I would just get an SS. The thing isnt even an RS! Crazy!

They could have gotten away way with that price in late 2009 when you had a waiting list for a Camaro! Maybe
