Pricing aside, I think in time the Z/28, built as it will be, will be the absolute pride of the entire Camaro community and all Camaro owners....

Right now, we're all just imagining what it would be like to own one...But really?...lol..
Once the dust settles, and these cars are out, common sense will prevail and most will realize that these cars aren't what they thought they would be, and will be content that it wasn't a good, or practical idea to actually own one anyhow.

The vast majority want and take for granted cars with creature comforts, mpgs, no maintenance, and low-sticker price....Probably will be a giant up-roar at the price on the Z/28 when it is known, that will be a fun, easy target for most who can then say they don't want one, when really they wouldn't be happy with the car at any price.

This car is a totally unique set-up and for a niche buyer...All good...It's still a Gen5 Camaro....just "purpose-built"....Enjoy it, whether you're a buyer or not!...

I've read all the post and yes I understand the history of the Z/28 and yes I even get how track capable this car should be. But if this car comes in at anything over $65 GM has completely struck out!!

Does it really matter? I mean honestly don't take this the wrong way, but regardless of what it's capable of when you get up in the $65-$70K range your option for performance cars is huge. And I'm not just talking straight line performance and ring times. Look I LOVE the 5th Gen and everything they have done to make an amazing performance car. But when there is talk of this car being in the $65-$70 range that's nuts. My .02

You may have other options in that price range but if the Z/28 is faster around a track, would you still say GM struck out?

What if the Z/28 runs with cars that cost twice as much?

True.... But if its dominating cars that are considerably more money wouldn't that make it worth it? Even if it's just performing at the same level as cars at it's price point then it's worth it.... IMO

I guess its all in how you look at it.

At what price? The one that has me on the floor sharing a bowl with Fido...

Seriously, IF it becomes a "one-Model-year wonder", it won't be inexpensive...

New C7 Stingray starts at $52K and is said to match the C6 Z06 in performance... I wonder how high the Z/28 will go.

..and that's the rub...and the way it shall be. Commentary has been made all along about the value and affordability that Chevy brings to the table with these products. Same has been said on this board from within the organization. The only said about is that it will be the most expensive Camaro made. Look at the ZL1 for a comparison in bang for the buck and MSRP. As much as the price keeps going up by leaps and bounds in the speculation market for the Z-28 MSRP on this site, I feel it will be more affordable than some are predicting. Chevy takes pride in making a quality product and keeping a tight margin.

I would seriously consider this car at slightly less than ZL1 money. In fact, I would buy it over a ZL1 even if it cost more. The problem is, I can't swing a $60K car. I am content with my 1LE (but that isn't preventing increasing the HP soon!).

What if someone just slapped the Z/28 badge on the ZL1 and gave it a matte white pearl wrap.
