I'll give it a go this weekend. Hopefully running the wire through the door isn't as difficult as it looks! I have the wires ran into the cabin already, so at least that's 1/2 the battle!

Side Mirrors with Flashing Turn Signals
updated 10-29-10

well here is a little experiment so far so good, trying different lighting options, using red LED's. let me know what you think, camera is not that great, it looks brighter than it really is.

ok got them done, 1st video is at night, again camera not that great, the lights look brighter than they really are in the night video. you can tell when you see the tail lights, obviously they are not that bright either.

2nd video is during the day, they look pretty much like the video.

Lupe

GREAT JOB!!! I like it!

Hello, I ran mine throught the firewall ( with the existing wire harness) and tapped right into the front blinkers. I hope someone out there has a wiring diagram so we can find the wires that run along the door sill to the rear of the car. That would make so much easier.

Marine - I like how you have your on except when turn signal is on! Sweet! I thought about going that route (and might now!), but I didn't know if it would bug me while driving.

i love it, love the flashing door handle, i have my fender vents flashing, one more set of lights to run lol. .
if you can post a pic of the wire from the door to the car also. so other can see how you ran it. i will post in the 1st post for others. also any tips you learned or anything that i didn't cover in the first post.
i just ordered my service manuals, i should be able to find the wires inside the car so other don't have to run them all the way to the turn signal outside
thanks again

lupe

I have to clean mine up a little this weekend, but good for now..
I pulled the mirror out of the housing (very easy, just push it downward - aiming at the ground - and gently pull it off from the backside.
Then I used a clothes-hanger wire to fish my wiring through.
I removed the speaker door so I could reach in and work with the wire, and brought it out through a hole (in the door) just above the speaker. There is also a hole in the body of the car just below the GM wire harness that I used to run the wire into the car.
To get into the cabin (on the V6 at least), there is a plug just below the battery wire at the firewall(you probably can't see it, but you can feel it). I popped it out, and went in that way to get to the front blinkers.

Again, not the cleanest look for now, but the easiest route for sure (without drilling or cutting anything).

I am running these same LEDs and spliced same black/red wires to make them longer and connect them underneath the dash.

My question is, one is the hot that connects to the blue and light blue wire underneatht he dash.... Where does the other connect to? Do i just ground it?
