high flow catalytic converter

if i have borla long tube headers and a borla exhaust do i need to get high flow catalytic converters? what do they do for performance?

headers either come with no cats or high flow cats. High flow cats help the environment and will keep the fumes down, so i would recommend using them. I forget who, but somebody did a test to compare catted headers to non catted headers and the performance was pretty much equal. I think all states require cats for emissions.

Pretty much. Catalytic Converters "treat" exhaust to make the world a better place....

Most High Flow cats don't reduce the flow much at all if any and are a good deal for those "needing" to have cats.

Not all states require cats, but certainly there are quite a few states, and Counties within states, that do require them to be in the correct place and not tampered with as part of their states Vehicle Emissions Testing programs.

For instance, there is only one County in NM that requires Cats. Aside from that one County, people can remove them or do what ever they want to them for that matter.

Now, that would definitely change the dynamics of the warranty...but....

Anyhoo, as I digress, I think you catch the jest of the idea.
