Signature Changed

My signature was changed by a moderator on Camaro5, without my knowledge. If I am violating the forums rules, let me know. But do not change it, without telling me. My urls were changed, which I consider to be borderline illegal. The person that changed my signature didn't just delete my signature or warn me about, they actually changed the URLs.

I understand that you're mad about it, and I agree they should've sent you a PM telling you that they did it and why. But how is it borderline illegal?

My signature and anything else I post is my speech, and can be held liable for it, good or bad. Changing my speech without a disclaimer stating that it was changed, therefore making it look as if it were something I said, is illegal.

Deleting it is another story.

I changed it back. But the URLs were changed.

In the grand scheme of things this was a minor incident. But I feel some of the mods on this forum are on a power trip, and they should not feel that they have the power to change someone else's words without making it known the words are no longer those of the person making the post.

While I don't know what happened exactly. Your signature does violate one of the camaro5 rules.

Privately online forums are not protected by freedom of speech.

Stieger is correct, your sig is in violation, so now you know it needs to be deleted.

When you signed up, you checked the little box that said you would abide by the rules set by the mods and the owners of the forum. They can pretty much do whatever they want.

I'm not claiming freedom of speech. I'm stating that no one anywhere, in any medium, has the right to publish words in my name that are not my own.

They can censor me all day long. But don't speak for me in my name.

As for my signature, I'll fix it and just make annoying bump posts like everyone else.
