I'm curious how these turbo setups sound without mufflers, does the turbo kill the sound enough for street driving?

Probably. It would be loud but probably not too loud.

We did a STS turbo kit on a WS6 T/A a few years ago. Still going strong I might add.
It wasn't loud at all actually with no muffler.I don't remember if he had cats or not though. But were not talking about the same cars and turbo kits either..... |

We ran my car at the mile with 3.5 inch turndowns about a foot long... So a total of two feet of 3.5 inch pipe, and it wasn't near as loud as some of the other cars out there... Twin 76's... The video of the runs has a long stretch where the car can be heard... At wide open throttle...

Driveability is unchanged since the initial build. Like driving a car with a small-medium cam I guess. Put around at as low as 1200 rpm, good Idle, never kills. I do notice a lot more heat with the headers though. I'll be taking them off to get them coated for sure.

That is one of the joys of FI, drives great and makes killer power. Almost any FI will drive as bad as the cam is. With turbos you can keep a really mild cam and still make huge power. You see people making 1200+ on 23#/23# cams with 0-5 degrees of overlap.

I've been lucky enough to see the IPS kit CP has in person from the time it was still in the boxes, on the car stock, to the monster it is now all built and everything. The kit is top notch and I see why a few of the turbo setups in the 1000rwhp utilize the kit.
Plan on doing twin when I get a C7Z07 for sure. No need to have another blown vette.

We made the original kit (GT35R and Tial SS Housings) for this very example. They don't "Shine" on a stock engine above/beyond our base Garrett offerings but when a built engine happens down the road you don't need to upgrade your entire kit to make 1000+rwhp. Those 3582R's are the smallest GT35 offering too so to cross the century-mark and also have the quickest-spooling option is a win-win. Jeff |

Also, I am moving back to more of a marketing role so I will be much more active on here again. I haven't read all of this thread yet but I will and maybe just post a summary for those curious about getting more details / info. In the mean-time, if you have any specific questions about our IPS kit or options or whatever that haven't already been addressed just let me know.

Now, none of this really matters a ton because both turbos sit above a 3/16" powdercoated steel skid-plate that is SOLID (For reference it is thicker than the stock skid-plates on a Jeep Wrangler that is actually expected to be driven off-road). If you manage to get your Camaro over large rocks / tree stumps / cement blocks you probably have bigger issues than a damaged turbo I have seen local cars (Lowered on big wheels) come in with abrasions on the bottom of the skid plate but I have yet to see one actually dented. The rear bolts (On the skid-plate) can be replaced with button-heads to save 1/8" or counter-sunk to save 1/2" if you are really worried about it. Jeff |

2013 ZL1, ADM built, Agp kit, S261 turbos, 1074 rwhp at 20 psi with a LS9 cam, Trick Flow 255's, motor, fuel system & turbos capable of 1400 rwhp but my 6L90 is not at the moment, it will be soon, 201.9 at The Texas Mile, 1/4 times will be made public soon with a few tweaks, mph is stupid fast already, 3 inch Magnaflow exhaust, car is very quiet, LPE intake with liquid to air intercooler inside the intake. The entire system is above the frame rails.
