Shorty header comparison.

So guys from your experience which brand shorty headers, JBA, ARH, Doug Thorley, BBK and any other you know of that I don't, do you think offers the best performance from what little the offer.

L99Cam, I am not sure if you're aware but our shorty headers are t he only 50 State Legal of the bunch and offer features others don't. We use 304 S/S 1-3/4" primaries with merge style collectors and scavenger spikes. The primaries all have considerable length, the shortest being 7-1/2". In fact our shorties are so unique that they are going thru the patent process as we speak. They also come with our ARH ignition wire cool socks. They do cost more but I assure you they will last indefinitely and perform to your expectations.

PM me a contact number and I'll reach with more details including price. Thanks

Not looking to jam anyone, but the JBA shorties are CARB approved as well (EO# D-57-25)

A.R. Headers
If I did shorties this would be the only one I would consider. The others look like a waste of money IMO. Someone here replaced DT shorties and high flow cats with LT headers and high flow cats and gained like 25RWHP. Same day same dyno. That tells me those shorties were not worth much if anything to begin with.

I personally am going with short tube headers. Mainly because I don't want to be married to a tuner. With long tubes you have to keep a tune on your car at all times...from what I've read. Short tube headers don't have that problem. Of course the benefits of LTs vs STs are quite well documented...but if you've looked at stock manifolds and compared them to ST headers you will see a huge difference which will translate to better performance.

From what I've seen the BBK offer the least expensive headers...if cost is an issue. I think the ARH are nice tho...

Most of the gains probably came from the high flow cats. The stock manifold is supposed to flow pretty well.

I'd either keep the stock manifold and add HF cats (actually, I did) or just get LT headers.

You just added hi flo cats huh. I may consider this. What brand did you get. Also how is your car with all the mods you did vs stock. And y not 3.91 gears vs 3.70s. I too was thinking 3.70s.

He has SOLO cats and an automatic (I believe) and why the 3.70, I'd assume.

Just to clarify I had DT Shorties and the Solos at the time. After swapping both to LTs I did gain 25rwhp/15rwtq

How many other mods did you have when going from shorties to LTs?
