This gen I believe the problem is that Chevy thought they could ride the Transformers train through the next gen and got lazy. The platform is excellent, however many people I talk to can't tell the difference between a late 5th gen and a 6th gen. The style, while updated, is still a bit outdated. I think retro has ran its course and Chevy is finding this out by bad sales. I for one am ready for a full modern redux on the Camaro. However I'll most likely still buy a 6th gen at some point either this year or next. That being said, we don't know what numbers they're aiming for as far as overall sales. Even still I doubt they're overly excited with how low they are even if they're hitting their numbers.

I'm all for modern too, and I think the 6th gen looks way more modern than the 5th. However, i'm not sure the retro has run it's course. The Challenger looks ancient and I think that is still helping its sales.

I just don't think the 6th gen has much of anything we could say is "retro" at all. Does it have some of the same styling characteristics as say...a 1st gen? (hips, long hood)...well sure it does. But this is hardly retro, as a 6th gen looks hardly anything like a 1st gen.
Does it look too much like a 5th gen? Maybe. But this is subjective.

My 2 cents;
I would gladly take either, both are fabulous cars Difficult to do an apples to apples comparison because of their differences HC can seat 4 adults, ZL1 weighs 500-600 pounds less HC has a more comfortable ride because it's a bigger car, ZL1 will take it on a road track because of it's lighter weight, bigger tires and better suspension HC does the best it can with its weight and actually handles well for what it is, ZL1 is a newer lighter platform with more advanced technology. HC styling is retro and appeals to some more than others, ZL1 styling is more modern and also appeals to some more than others (personal preference) Both take well to mods, both have quality interiors I feel the HC's biggest limiting factors are the ability to fit larger tires in the rear, which might be overcome with "Demon" wide body kits (if that look appeals to you) and the terrible Dodge service department horror stories which I hear a lot more about than any Ford or GM service department complaints. I feel that the ZL1's biggest limiting factors are it's "Camaro blind spot stigma" and the fact you can't really seat more than 2 adults (if that's a factor in your decision). If I was going to buy one or the other new I would likely choose the ZL1 as I don't need the extra seating and I can live with the "Blind spot". That being said if I had $65k to spend on a car I would seriously consider one of the dozens of 2016 HellCats with less than 10kmi on them for $55k on e-bay or cars.com and pocket the difference, or reinvest in performance mods

I was just looking at the Hellcat forum and there are a lot of 10.7-10.8 times stock on DR. These cars are 57hp more, but same TQ as us. They weigh a few hundred pounds more,so we should be in the same time range IMO.
