Just reading through the Camaro shop manuals and noticed a section about the fuel injectors shutting off when, coasting, slowing or RPM less that 1250 (in N). Also mant other more short term shutt-off modes. The technology in the L is amazing. the best I have ever had is 33.6 MPG, Auto Trans manual mode 6th gear to keep the engine from shifting, used the cruise, 89 octane. On the bad side 17.9 MPG but that was a fun tank during the Hot Rod Power Tour in the back hills of Tennessee. After 16000+ miles I have averaged 24.79 MPG, daily driver in Minnesota.

mileage
My gf lives in canada. 160 miles 99% freeway each way. I make the trip 1-3 times a week. I have a 2011 v6 manual LT no upgrades(yet). When i set cruise to 75 i always get 28 mpg. If i can stand to drive 55 i will get 34.5mpg. I almost never hit traffic just a straight shot but some hills same numbers both directions. Cant wait to take off the steel wheels and add CAI just to the mileage increase. Just saying on the highway this car is all smiles.
Does anyone have numbers on increasing mileage? I see lots on hp nothing for increasing mileage through after market parts like CAI. As this is my first post i must say this is the most fun car i have ever had. |

cute try, but actually it gets 0 mpg while in the garage, unless it's somehow miraculously driving itself around your garage via spirit.
just got my car two weeks ago. i would describe my driving conditions as moderately severe city conditions. i have been getting about 14-14.5 mpg, but hopefully it will get better after the break in. i have always been a firm believer how you drive doesn't make that big of a difference in your gas mileage, but that could just be because of all the cars i have driven in my time, that has been true. |
