ZL1 hood installed

Well I finally installed my ZL1 hood late last night fresh from the painter.

This is the EBay Fiberglass hood (hood is all 1 piece), the fit and finish was very good. The painter painted the hood glossy black with the insert Ashen Gray Metallic just like the 2013 models. I was planning to wrap the insert section in glossy carbon fiber but I really like the insert painted AGM.

I am 80% complete with my appearance conversion I will be doing the side skirts and I am still up in the air about doing the rear bumper.

For the haters don’t bother posting be on your way Please this is for those who wanted to see the EBay ZL1 hood.

My ZL1 Appearance Conversion items so far.

-OEM ZL1 5-spoke Polished wheels
-OEM ZL1 bumper cover
-OEM ZL1 rear spoiler
-Custom ZL1 belly pan
-OEM ZL1 Springs
-ZL1 aftermarket hood

**Items to add**
-OEM ZL1 Side Skirts
-OEM ZL1 rear bumper (maybe)

Enjoy the photos

Sean

Thanks yea me too the quality seems to be spot on. I will give it a good work out as this is my daily driver if it's anything like my SS hood on my 2001 Z/28 this should be going strong 11 years later with no issues.

I feel for ya in the end I still believe this is the best way to go especially since the Ebay hood dropped from $495 to $350, add another $350 for paint and you have a $700 ZL1 hood.

While I love the OEM ZL1 hood even after buying that for $800, add the cost of the ACS insert, and paint you are looking at close to $1800.

2 shots of an OEM ZL1 hood with the AGM insert to give you an idea.

Looks great!! I think the mesh grille vents would look better in matte black. Is the ZL1 cowl lower with wider spears? Not sure what the differences are.

Who is the manufacturer of your hood? I have had a similar one for a little while now. I am very pleased with mine as well.

I agree I will be painting those, I will have to measure mine with my friends ZL1 to see.
