Dealer got my car Wrong!!

Hi all! New member here! and New owner (Soon) "waiting for right car"
Well Dealer called late today to say Car is here, so I go to pick it up and low and behold....FAIL...I Ordered an Orange 2SS RS With Orange/black seats, polished wheels, no sunroof.. And there sat before me an orange 2ss rs black seats, sunroof, painted wheels, and 200 miles on it!!! WTF!
I in so many words said well someone wasn't paying attention to me when I said what I wanted..So they start with,, Well you said seats did not matter, sunroof you said with or without, And the Wheels they said they did not even know there was a choice from polished and painted! ??? get with the program fellas! know your options man! And 200 miles on it? How many test drives did this thing take? I said for $37,000 i'm NOT going to "settle" for whatever they wanted to give me because thats all they said they could find..Well the Manager says he will find the right car and it may take a few days though...Well if they don't I guess I'll be ordering a 2011 in the same trim just paying slightly more and waiting alot longer

More than 37k for a 2011? I should think not. Did you want an automatic? You need to drive a harder bargain. Is there another dealer nearby?

Good for you for standing up for yourself. Not being able to find one that was just what I wanted was the reason I ordered mine. They probably did a dealer swap when they found one "close" to what you asked for, so who knows where it came from. In these cases they have someone go pick the car up and drive it to your dealership, which might explain the mileage. I know a man from my church who does this for my local dealership. Right now it may seem like a hassle, but I think ordering is the way to go. When I got my car it only had 15 miles on it and was made to match what I wanted.

If you're doing a locate/swap...have to very specific, see the actual invoices yourself of the cars they locate & attempt to get. I've never understood the surprises in this, unless you go all on verbal and "get me..."

Check the papers, the dealers where the car could come from, and go from there. You'll get the right one...eventually

As already mentioned, talk to some of the sale folks that post on this board such as Scotty, Becky or Anna. They may be able to help you out and even ship the vehicle if you are not able to get what you want from a local dealership.

After I became frustrated with a local dealership, this is what I did...No regrets!
