LSX454

Looking for a new car and someone close has a 2011 with an lsx454. Now my question, would you stay away from the car because of the engine? I know the early 454s had some issues but how are the later ones? The car hasn't been beat, infact quite the opposite. I already read the story about putting FI to it and thats not in the plan if I do go ahead with the purchase. Would the cylinder walls be able to take a hit of nitrous?

Maybe 150? That is even if I would add it. The compression on the lsx454 is 11:1 (if memory serves me correctly.)

I would go max 100 just to keep it on the safe side the crown is too thin on the 454 to go any bigger imo

Ok but overall I shouldn't worry about the lsx454?

no sir lsx engines are real sturdy and their durability is second to none play it safe with shot of nitrous and use it sparingly get a good tuner to tune you for it the correct way and you'll be golden bud!

The LSX454 is a beast!!! I'd jump on that car if the price is right.

I second the beast, LSX454 is a monster engine. I am not sure how big a shot of nitrous you can give it, but it is all forged bottom.

I don't know if you test drove that car you are looking at yet, but once you do you should be sold if it was done right. Post back up if you get it.
