And of over the counter stuff for motor oils I would use the one that I found in this report to be pretty good....the pensoil ultra believe it or not....... not mobile one, not Castrol, not redline, not royal purple or lucas as they all bit it one or more catagories...

Thanks for the info, ive always had a problem with Pennzoil for whatever reason I dont know...Does GM make their own brand of oil like Ford does their synthetic blend?

I'm not sure on the 14's but on my 11 the oil cap says Mobil 1. I have used this oil for the last decade and have never had an issue. Will continue to use it.

Congratulations on the new ride Sir!

Black cars have a certain mystique about them.

No opinion on the clay bar never used this.

My favorite was the 3 part Meguiars with a separate steps consisting of a cleaner, polish, and finally wax.
A wax job with this would take all day even with a buffer, but it was worth it.
The all day part is probably why the product no longer is on the store shelves!

May I recommend Pennzoil Platinum with "pure plus".
This oil is synthesized from natural gas, and has superior specifications Vs: most other synthetics.
It is Dexos licensed.

http://www.epc.shell.com/Docs/GPCDOC...-US%29_TDS.pdf

I just bought two 5 quart jugs from Walmart .
There is a peel off that offers $1 off per gallon of Shell gasoline with the use of their fuel rewards card!

https://www.fuelrewards.com/fuelrewa...Q&gclsrc=aw.ds

Regarding the early oil change:

I did this too, in fact my factory oil was changed out in less than a hundred miles.
I will change the engines oil again and the differential lube at about 5K miles.
Cheap insurance towards a long drive train life IMHO.

Have fun!
Be safe.

Rickey

Congratulations

Nice car and color as well.

If your Cam will be with manual tranny, check if there is any noise coming when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear or from clutch. It is getting known among 2SS owners not all of them. It is like rattling.

Have a good day.

When people root for a team, not everyone in the stands wears the same players jerseys. Some will root for the QB, or the Center, or the Pitcher. Some will root for the DE, or a Defenseman, or an Outfielder. The point is, they all root for the same team. Owning a Camaro is the same. Does it really matter which Camaro you own? It shouldn't, so don't knock someone else's preference.

No need to apologize at all! Most of the options are just frills.

The basic 1SS has everything you need, the best seat covers, and is the fastest stock SS. Good choice. It is a great platform to start modding with later.

Beautiful car. I still love the black as on my '11 SS, but hard to keep clean.

And OP don't mind the tail light haters, they need to get a life. They look like 1969 C1 tail lights to me. And the front of your car is way more aggressive than the pre '14s and and more aerodynamic. Time marches on and cars get better. Some will always want to live in the past.

You made the right choice. My car is blue ray with the NPP exhaust. Those two are my favorite options right behind the 1LE package.

The sound is killer with the NPP and you lose the suitcase mufflers, resonators and the rocket ship exhaust tips.

Well, re-congrats on the Blue ray!!
The NPP exhaust is a great option...as a matter of fact, I wanted NPP along with the 1LE but I also required an automatic due to a motorcycle accident 30 years ago (lost my left leg right above the knee) and both are not offered on the L99's.
I had to put some $$ into Solo Hi Flow cats and their cat back system to correct for the lack of NPP.

Also, I bought mine from the same dealer in Daytona as they had a huge inventory and are one of the largest volume dealers in the Southeast.
