Caliper covers PSA.....just stop

This is not meant to bash but inform. Caliper covers trap heat and look tacky. They offer no benefit whatsoever and most enthusiasts cringe at the sight of them. Obviously you can do whatever you'd like with your hard earned money and if none of that bothers you then by all means ignore this. For the people that are on the fence please advise and know that there are always alternatives to ugly stock brakes (black paint, relatively inexpensive wilwoods, etc).

Lol yes "ricer" mod for sure. Offers no performance gain, if you have these on your car I will automatically assume you're an idiot until you prove otherwise.

you want big calipers, buy big calipers ... Smh

wow, i'll be that V6 guy. on an SS i would agree with you heavily on cheesy on a V6 without brembo's they do what you say trap heat but also trap break dust from going everywhere on your wheels and frankly look alot less cheesy then the stock calipers but paint is a good option.

Probably the cheesiest mod out there. When I see them I always look for where the owner put his ABS plastic stick on "vents" as well (usually below the LIMITED EDITION badge from Wal-Mart).

A tow hook has a purpose. But if you don't road race your car and just want it for the look than yeah its a ricer mod as well

For an alternative look,

These are powder coated calipers. There is a color coat with metal flake and then after adding the SS letters, they are clear powder coated.

Yes, I had not yet installed the custom center caps...

Someone suggested that the MGP Stealth Covers would look good and I ordered a set of black covers with red lettering. I admit to being a little uninformed when it came to these things and didn't know much about them.

Long story short .... when they came I kind of set one on the front caliper to see how it would look and in about 30 seconds I knew I didn't like it. It does look cheesy, mostly because the thing is so big. I don't think they can be returned but maybe I can get rid of them somehow. Lesson learned.
