Anyone know what is causing this noise?

I hear it on start-up mostly. It's an annoying hum.

It is the V8 posted it under the wrong forum.

Just a guess...Some sort of baffel? loose in the exhaust that tightens up after warm up if it goes away after a few minutes.

Heat shield loose? Or clamp maybe?

Send a message via Yahoo to Ject
if you softly and gradually increase the RPM, does it get louder/faster ??

Sounds like someone scratching metal lol... could be a lot of things.

Yep, vibration for sure. Put some work gloves on and grab the exhaust while it is running and see if that makes it stop.

If it turns out to be the exhaust I might think about an exhaust upgrade.

Somewhere on here I have read about a guy having something like 2-3 exhaust systems breaking? Don't know if this is similar to his troubles. Think that he ended up going aftermarket after a few warranty replacements theat broke again. Try to search it I know it is here some where.

Macrackie is the winner!!. They said they wanted to be sure it wasn't the catalytic converter so they kept it overnight so they could start the car while it was cold on the lift. Using a stethoscope they determined it was something loose in the muffler. In the end they replaced the entire exhaust system on the car front to back. I had to wait a week for the parts to come in.
