Comp cam Dyno, 497rwhp stock heads

Copied from LS1tech. Shows what can be done with a huge cam and budget parts. Practically 500rwhp with no EWP, intake or head work.

Lots of putzy work when doing a cam on one of these cars... I think my personal fav is the stretch belt for the a/c compressor:fire

Pulled the intake off to clean the oil residue out of it from the breather.

Kinda start to the point where the stock cam comes out. Gotta love blowing apart a brand new car with 4k miles on it!.

Mod list:

Roto-fab CAI, 160T-stat, Ebay 1-5/8" catless long tubes, stock mid pipe(s), JBA axleback, 231/247 113LSA Cam, 7.400PR's, PRC 650 springs and of course the ever important tune. Ive got less into this car in parts than what most pay for a complete exhaust system for those who are budget concious.

Vid up first:

This is a new LSR grind, Comp Cam specifically for rectangle port heads: .617/.624 - 231/247 113LSA

Looks like a centrifugal supercharger dyno chart, less the flatter torque curve.

I wonder what type of vacumme that cam pulls.

Probably borderline for street driving. It peaks around 7k, If they pulled it all the way to 7000 (especially with proper sized long tubes) it would certainly make 500+rwhp.

MOIY the intake was removed to clean oil residue out.

how streetable would you say this setup is? what about overall cost?

and the big question............what would this combo do with a nice aggressive set of heads? sounds like a deadly combo to me...........and this was on the stock midpipe...........

Put a Naws sticker on it! lol

Hey, great share man. Nice to get pics of somebody doing it.

Yeah, I was wondering about the manifold too but I reckon you already answered it the best you could.

Was there really that much that you had to remove it? Too bad that you didn't consider porting that sucker while it was off!

That woulda def gotten you over those 3 HP....

Looks like the Ebay (faux Comp Cams) spring compressor too...yeah??

Again, nice work,
Ivan

I might missed this. But are you talking about this working on an LS3 only or both LS3 and L99?
