Paint is definately the way to go. I originally didn't have much money to spend and was looking to do vinyl, but the more I asked about them, the more I found out they were a pain to install and everybody was telling me to get the paint instead. I finally bit the bullet and spent the extra money and it was worth every penny, especially the way the metallic flake shows up in the iom color. It took me a while also to find someone to do it, but a dealer nearby who was used to painting camaro stripes did it for $1100.00

Don't buy vinyl stripes.
Get them painted on. I did, and it looks great and won't peel/fade. Do it RIGHT!

I got mine from MoProAuto. I've been extremely happy. They aren't quite as fat as Rider Graphix. They narrow and follow the contour of the cowl a little more. See the link below. You can see 4 pictures of my Camaro on there. It's the yellow one. I didn't even know they had pictures of my car on their site so that's kind of cool for me.
http://www.moproauto.net/servlet/the...-Camaro/Detail EDIT: I just clicked on this link http://www.moproauto.net/servlet/the...BUMBLEBEE/Page and there's a picture of me standing in front of my car while they are applying the stripes to my car. LOL. I didn't send them the pics. They must have gotten them off the Camaro5 site. I had no clue. I feel like a D list celebrity. Funny.

I am also confused between vinyl or painted stripes. Honestly, I think painted look much better than vinyl but practically I like vinyl. Here are a few reasons:
1) Much cheaper to install compared to painted stripes. 2) If I get bored with the style and want to change later on, I would be much easier process compared to painted stripes where I would again have to spend a couple of thousand dollars. 3) If I sell my car in a few years and the buyer doesn't want the stripes then it would be cheaper to remove the vinyl ones compared to painted stripes. 4) Since I am not getting rally stripes and instead just going for hood spears, hockey, lower body accent and vents stripes, I dont think they would look so bad compared to painted. Simply because these stripes are not as wide as rally stripes and it will be hard to tell the difference from distance. What do you guys think?

i'd say to have your stripes done in vinyl. if you really like them after you've had em on a while get em painted on...if not do a different vinyl stripe till you find the one you like then have it painted on. with the vinyl you can experiment and change up....paint is a little permanent.

I would prefer them painted on but if you insist on vinyl go to a local graphics shop. I think the vendors on this site overcharge for stripes. I got the convertible concept stripes from a local graphics shop in town for about $100 cheaper than a select vendor in this forum.

i'll keep this positive by saying there are several different grades(quality) of vinyl so if you do go to a "sign shop" be sure and try to get something that is designed to last more that a few months. my vinyl has to be checked and approved by GM since i am licensed as an o.e.m. supplier.....big difference between my stuff and something you'd put on the door of a dump truck or something....oh ya...nothing wrong with a dump truck...they just don't corner like a camaro.
