Every time I have checked the factory stock preload it is usually between 2 & 2 1/2 turns!

http://www.autoserviceprofessional.c...roller-lifters
Good Article, but no info on preload. Read a bunch, still a range with the lessor of two evils the noiser: less preload but no worry about valve float..... another interesting article with actually some factory specs for preload but I have read one too many article form people still using ls1 or their bolts being a different thread pitch..so its confusing and more over confusing is the past Camaro 5 posts...LOL http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...reference.html

So why set it at .030 if GM uses that much on the LS7 lifters?

The preload on stock lifters is not that critical anywhere from one turn to two full turns is fine.
