Cometic head gasket on stock L99?

I'm doing a dod/afm delete on my L99 and before slapping heads back on, I thought about head gasket choices.
The cometic head gasket is said to be great on sealing and they have a thinner (.040 gasket) than stock set.
My engine will retain stock cam phasing and stock cam specs (custom non afm lobe grind)

Would it be possible to use the thinner (stock thickness is .051 I believe ) gasket to up the compression to LS3 ratio (10.4 to 10.7) for just a tad more compression? Would it have enough PTV clearance with full phasing of the VVT cam phaser.

Again L99 stock specs, stock heads, stock custom grind camshaft and stock pistons with valve reliefs. Keeping VVT. No milling done to head or block. Just using this opportunity to decide on whether or not to put a thinner gasket before I button her up.

What are your thoughts?

I don't want a cam with no lope and I don't want to lose the efficiency of full phasing. Decision has been made on cam choice.
Just want to know about head gasket choice with stock specs.

You will be fine with a .040 head gasket. You can use a cometic or a Fel-pro.

Thank you. How much of an increase in compression would this create?

Thank you. That's what I thought...basically bring it to LS3 ratio.
