Very good point, im totally for this, i mean personally i think there's enough competition already with how Ford is getting its panties in a bunch over the new Camaro and GM is just sittin back counting every millionth of a reason why the Camaro is better than the Challenger or Mustang, but id totally love to see a race series back that requires a build...i just wonder what could be done to make this reality? Modify a current series? Try to get the new Trans Am series to cave and go back to the way it usd to be? Start a new one or bring back an old one?

Very interesting subject

And yeah the LSA has a few modified parts to accomidate the extra horsepower and the supercharger system and all adds the weight...but with the extra 125hp id say its a fair trade haha

Nope, the supercharger, I/C, oil cooler, and whatever else adds weight.

Your right, but it does add extra weight. I have not seen the actual figures of the LS9 compared to a fully built LS3. The whole supercharger system including the two gallons of coolant that I added to my GTO gave me an extra 100lbs.

YES, god this took me forever but i finally got it, the LSA was a DEFINATE biatch to find specs on, i kept getting torque readings and some completely different aircraft engine every time i searched it but i finally got it, the LS9 was so-so, the LS7 i got in like 5 seconds LOL, so here's the weigh in!

LS7 - 458lbs
LSA - 467lbs (dry)
LS9 - 530lbs (dry)

a few hundred in aftermarket suspension pgrades will probably make your limits higher than you even dare to test.
I like your approach. It is good to hear from another road racer. We both know most of these cars have potential beyond the ability of the average driver. Suspension mods are often overlooked but, dollar for dollar, they will get your car's power to the pavement better than anything else.
