that would wake the fuc. out of an ss....gearing is everything on engine performance...600hp viper my neighbout is driving comes with 2.something first gear.....that is why it doesnt feel really fast...even compared to us....

I think you're being optimistic. That added weight alone is almost exactly the same as saying that the Mustang's power curve just got 30hp fatter everywhere in the rpm range. I personally don't see 30 lb-ft of rw tq offsetting that.

We agree here, although I do think people might want to keep in mind that there is still some debate as to which Mustang gear seat will actually be fastest through the 1/4 once the dust settles....many still think the 3.55:1 is the best choice with the 3.73:1 being a bit too much gear in stock trim given the spacing between gears in the transmission putting the Mustang needing to shift into fourth or bang off the rev limiter right before the end of the 1/4 mile on an otherwise ideal run. Not good.

About $6,500 in mods will get you to where you want to be.

That is what I ended up with on a final number to get 500WHP and consistent 11 sec. time slips without breaking.

Sweet! I did not know they were out for the Camaro yet. That would have been my choice.

On paper about 250lbs..

There are reports of some owners in the 3,500 lbs. range:

wow the Ls3 is more powerful? Who woulda thought! Considering it's rated higher and advertised as having more power.

Same gearing and same weight... this sounds like some ricer benchracing now... "WELL YOU HAVE A SUPERCHARGER, IF I GOT ONE ON I'D TOTALLY WIN!"

It was in response to statments bringing weight and gearing into the discussion. This thread was only about power that was made on the dyno. Nothing more.
