Car Covers

The car covers look absolutely awesome! I will definitely be adding this to my order. I have a dilemma however . My Camaro will be orange but the two colors offered are red and grey. In all the photos I've seen, the cover in the picture actually looks orange. Is this the actual color? Are they going to offer more colors later?

I know this might sound silly to some but I have this feeling that the cover should match. Does anyone else feel the same way? Would it look bad to have an orange car but a red cover?

I haven't seen them so I don't know for sure. But, as you've said, the orange has a lot of red in it. But I'm thinking the red car cover will be really red. So, if you want the car and the cover to match closely, might be dissapointed.

Someone on the site responded to a post I made about the covers. I'm now very concerned about little surface scratches and messing up the paint.

Oh yeah, this could be a problem. Maybe if you keep the car with a good wax on it this could be avoided? Anyone?

The only way to avoid the scratches is A) not to buy the cover or B) if you must use the cover, keep it on for a long time. If the Camaro will be your daily driver then forget it. I wouldn't even recommend the cover if you was stashing it away for the winter. The cover imo is for long term storage only.

How about removing it once a week?

Too often. Unless you wash the cover once a week. Yes waxing the car regularly will help. But eventually you will get something abbrasive in the car cover and you will scratch the car. I agree, it should only be used for long term storage and only indoors, to protect against stuff being dropped on it or being grazed by something that my scratch it if there was no car cover. Don't use a car cover out side. it will dull the paint.

I really don't see the need for them other than long term storage...

Imo, long term isn't measured in months but instead in years.

What causes the scratches? Is the inside abrasive? I would think they'd be lined with some sort of soft cotton. This is disappointing. I just love the thought of it sitting in my garage with that cover and the stripes just making people want to see whats underneath. It's almost like seeing a beautiful woman in lingerie! You know what I'm talking about! lol

Also, I have two little ones and I can just see it getting rubbed on or a ball bouncing off of it or something. I really don't want to have to have DHS called on me because of the Camaro!

The inside is soft but what causes the scratches is dust. Dust does and will get under the cover. A little updraft or difference in pressure and the natural dust in the air or the dust on the ground will be blown under and in the cover, just like how dust still gets on furniture that's been covered and put in storage.

As for the little ones, a cover won't prevent most of the damage they will do and can possibly do more harm then good if they rub on a place where some dust got into.
