DETROIT – The countdown to the debut of Chevrolet’s next NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racecar is underway. Chevrolet announced today that for the 2013 season, Team Chevy will be racing a vehicle based on a new nameplate to the brand’s lineup. Taking advantage of the new NASCAR rules, which allow manufacturers to integrate more of their brand identity in their racecars, the new Chevrolet racecar will closely resemble the production version. Both cars will be unveiled in the coming year. |

I have no freaking idea anymore. GM's being super cryptic about this.
There's a chance that VF Commodore might be ready for launch next year but from what I understood, it was a later-2013CY launch, not like Impala which will launch early next year. Who knows? Maybe plans have been pushed ahead?

Oh, and being that the press release talks about a "new nameplate," I doubt we'll see a Chevelle or Monte Carlo or whatever other historic nameplate that's being thrown around.
Again, I offer my original suggestion: Just retain the Commodore name. Chevrolet Commodore LS. Chevrolet Commodore LT. Chevrolet Commodore SS.

Thought of you today Number3....... I picked up a brand new DuraStar today that was built into a mobil dental unit. Now I know why they gave a wrench turner orders to a medical clinic......
 Apparently I am in charge of said beast..... and I have no resources. This should be a fun project.
