Trunk won't open... coupe! Help!!
The other day I came out from the grocery store and hit my trunk button on my key fob but the trunk did not open. Tried again... nothing. Unlocked my driver door (with the fob) and hit the trunk button but still nothing. Long story short... I can hit the trunk button and all I hear is a clicking noise coming from the fuse. Tonight I went out and checked out the fuse box. I took out the fuse that controls the trunk relay and swaped it for the exact same fuse located under the hood that controls the HID lights which is a known working fuse (same part number, same fuse). Still nothing with the known good fuse. Same clicking noise when I hit the button in the car as well as when i hit the button on the fob. When I hit the button on the fob all the lights flash as they should just no trunk action.
Has anybody out there had this happen yet? Could it be the actual electronic trunk latch in the trunk??? Oh, and yes my manual pull cable (located in the trunk) still works. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my bumper to bumper warranty is out.

Sometimes I go to pop my trunk, either the key fob or the trunk release on the door, and it does the same "click, click, click, click" noise that you are describing. When I do get it open I have to unlock it once more otherwise when I close the trunk it just hits the latch... I asked a local dealer and they acted like I was crazy :(

I did a search on here and didn't find anything for the coupes having this problem but when I searched google I found some old threads from 2009 talking about this:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33436 I've tried all the little tips in here with no luck. I'm just going to replace the latch.

its probably the solenoid that actuates the lock unlock, you need to check and see if its getting power.

Had that happen in my wife's 2010 SS........it was a bad solenoid in the trunk. Had it replaced and was fine until we traded in the car.

Really sorry to hear about the trunk not opening iFast. I definitely understand the frustration that this undoubtedly causes. I see that you are getting a new part for it. Let me know how it operates after you make the installation. Here to help. Regards, William R. Chevrolet Customer Care

Try this trick, open the trunk and use a screw driver to set the latch then use the remote to unlock it with it open, after I had taken off my trunk lid and put it back on, all I got was a thunk when I tried to closed the lid , and even after I got it to close it would not open unless I went thru the back seat to pull on the cable to pop the trunk, try that and see if it works.

I had the same problem
This exact problem was happening to me, I have the 2012 v6. I had this happen after installing my sound system. Of course they initially blamed it on that, but I had it taken out and it was still a problem. Ended up having the computer flashed, which they also fried it in the process, replaced and then told it was my fault there's nothing they could do. After months of going back and forth to the dealer I made friends with one of the dealers head mechanics and had him check the car the next time I took it in. After all that trouble it turned out to be a loose ground connection to the main computer that controls everything. They fixed the connection and no problem since, with the trunk that is.
