Thoughts? Opinions?

As in... should you do it? I think so. The CAI w/ scoop is highly functional, boosts performance, and looks great too.

Why not just add the scoop?

Adding the scoop to the K&N does indeed make a significant difference. You will make more power with the CAI Inc system and scoop but we are talking about single digit differences. If you have any questions I might be able to answer do not hesitate to hit me up.

Are you talking single digit HP?

I'm looking for the max HP gain I can get here obviously. |

Big difference on the dyno? At the track? or in your mind?

I am using a K&N intake. I am sure they are close. I noticed better throttle response after installing the scoop, but the filter also picks up a lot more debris. I wish I had gone with CAI because it looks nicer to me and you dont have to worry about the hood seal. If performance is the only concern, i would keep what you have and save the cash. If money isnt a concern and you like the look, I would go ahead and get the CAI.

I went from a 12.747 @114.04 to a 12.630 @ 114.87 and I had a real dirty air filter after the scoop. Idk about HP gain as I have never seen a dyno yet. I'm getting a base line next week. Now that I cleaned the air filter it seems even better. To me I wouldn't spend a couple of hundred more just to gain a couple more HP. But yes I felt a difference. The colder the air the better it gets.

Think of it this way.
The CAI intake is usually 400 bucks. Do you want to spend 400 bucks to pick up a few HP? I'm in the same boat as you. My car had the K&N when I bought it, but swapping it isn't a big priority to me because my Dyno numbers were pretty decent for the mods I have. I'm doing a 1le diff swap and then saving for a cam job. Maybe after that I will swap my intake. Just a thought/ input
