Stock ZL1 .vs. Torq Heat Exchanger!!
We are finally able take some photo's of our Dual Pass Heat Exchanger .vs. the tiny inefficient stock heat exchanger. This is a 100% direct bolt on and uses stock OEM ZL1 hoses, stock pump location, etc We have TONS in stock ready to ship.
Our heat exchanger was among the first designed for the Camaro and first for the ZL1. This assembly was designed using real world testing, fitment as well as CAD data made available through the SEMA technology transfer program. We have tons of these in-use on the street and strip keeping some of the fastest and highest HP superchrged cars in the country cool. When we set out to design a heat exchanger for these cars we used our years of testing/installing and heat exchanger use in the Ford (03 cobra and GT500) markets to assist with the R&D. We knew going too big did not mean the best cooling. One way to help reduce these intake temps and the risk of damage is to add more fluid into the inter cooler system which in turn helps lower intake temps by dissipating heat. Torq Heat Exchangers are TIG welded and feature furnace brazed cores with no epoxy. Whenever you add more boost to your car, cooling becomes extremely important. Whether it be on the street or at the track the warmer the car runs the more timing gets pulled. In addition to that an excessive amount of heat known as heat soak starts to take place. This keeps the car down on power and running less efficient. This again can be helped by adding more fluid into the cooling system. The temperature of the inter cooler fluid will lower and cool down faster in between runs. The heat exchanger allows for a 60% increase in fluid capacity! This alone is a huge benefit!! We install the fans with the factory pump and can have it where the fans and pump come on with Key On or on a delay if you wish. Your tuner can take care of this for you!

6rwhp and 6rwtq by keeping the temps down. No matter how hard you beat on it the recovery is simply amazing. With the stock HX the temps would continue to rise after a run...not anymore! Drops down to 100F within 10 seconds
Just at idle we are noticing a 15* drop in IAT2's with the larger HX with fans and increased capacity of fluid Full data coming shortly |
