factory rim weight?

Does anyone know about what the factory wheel weigh ill be getting an aftermarket set and im torn betwwen flashy or lightweight. If the factory rims aren't much lighter than standard ss rims then ill go with flashy but I don't want it put a big dent in my performance.

ZL1 wheels are something like 20+ pounds lighter than SS wheels (set), and are tested to the toughest standards. I like the look enough to keep the OEM wheels and would only consider widening them; no replacements necessary for me

This says the ZL1 wheels are 11lbs. lighter than the outgoing SS wheels, but it doesn't say if it's combined or individual. I'm gonna guess combined.

I would assume so. Saying each wheel is 2.75lbs lighter doesnt sound all that spectacular.

So it probably wouldn't hurt much to get a flashy set then?

Probably not. I had the original 19" painted rims and went with 20" rims that were actually slightly lighter than the 19s and look way better IMO. You can get a mix of both. Its how much $$$ you want to spend that is the question.

Well money fortunatly isn't the issue I was lucky enough to be born into a family with work ethics lol Im just concerned with looks really I see my car as an extension of personality and I don't want it to blend in (which unfortunately happens way too much with camaros)

That's pretty impressive looking at the fact they are 20x10 and 20x11.

See how many wheels there are on the market that weigh less than that, and look at how much they cost.

Please don't ruin a ZL1 with something gaudy.

Thats still roughly 29 lbs for fronts and 33lbs for rears. Im sure it couldnt be that hard to find after market wheels lighter than that. And like the OP said, cost is not an issue.

Since money is no problem then order a set of CCW rims. They made the rims for the prototype cars and already have the correct back spacing.

Oh, by the way Christmas is only a few weeks away and a set of 505a rims would look really good under my tree (Hint,Hint)

It was announced they are 22 pounds lighter by GM many times - I had to go find that

I'm liking Weld's new forged offerrings

EDIT: Funny how the reference guide posts 11 lbs... Hmmm...

You have to have a forged set of wheels to withstand the enormous amount of stress. I am sure that a cast set may break.
