Not sure who here likes Pink Floyd much, but for those who really liked the band (or just liked Dark Side of the Moon), today is a very sad day.

I have the entire collection from Meddle (1972) on through Division Bell (1994) and the DVD of that tour (Pulse). Saw the band on that tour at the old Cleveland Stadium in April of '94. The greatest rock concert I've ever seen to this day, and this is one of my all time favorite bands.

Rick was a groundbreaking keyboardist. He was playing with sound effects and vari-speed recorders for different keyboard sounds long before digital synthisizers were invented. Some of the most memorable sound effects on Dark Side and The Wall were his creation.

Plus, he was a quiet, genuinely nice guy.

He will be missed. :(
