Yes I'm pretty sure mine are. If you bring them to a chrome plater they can still do it. Others here have. If you search you should be able to find some pics.

Chrome plating over aluminum looks great and does not get rust pits.

Anyone powder-coated their SS wheels yet? Mine are polished aluminum and they're getting quite a lot of pits in them because of the mass amount of rocks and salt they put on the roads in Minnesota. Takes months to get it all off the roads. I was thinking of making mine black so it's an all black car.

I was just going to ask this question!
I have a guy what wants his polished. I'll send them out for clearcoat removal and then I'll work my magic on them! I'll also polish the inside of the wheel to the same finish as the outside. It should pop like crazy! Has anyone done this yet?

I got a great set of chrome wheels, chrome lugnuts and chrome locks for $840 + s/h. They are called Factory Reproductions and they are available on eBay. All customer comments were great.
I saw chroming options and other wheels as too expensive, so I took a chance. I kept my midnight silvers for my winter tires. I've had them on the car for a week and they are perfect, so far.

I would LOVE to see the polished wheels stripped of clear coat and polished MUCH more. I don't like chrome-SORRY.
But the polished ones DO NEED a better polish job. They are MADE IN CHINA Wheels made in China are usually not very good. Japan made wheels are usually Very high quality. Acura, Honda wheels are made by Enkei-quality. Last edited by JEFF2010SSMANUAL; 05-06-2010 at 04:21 PM. |

I'll do my first set here pretty soon if this guy goes for it. I haven't a clue about the cost of doing this, since I'm not sure of the quality of these wheels. I have to be able to maintain MY level of quality on parts I polish Does anyone know of exactly how they are constructed and what alloy? I just felt behind the spoke and they feel like cast, but what kind of cast. I'm just a bit worried about porosity.

Well not on a clear coated wheel, but a raw polished wheel like the CCW classic yes you could powerball until you were blue in the face, and yes i have done this lol.
