NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE NEW SET UP AT ALL!

It seems they're catering more to the classic vehicles and not the others.
I noticed a lot more organization taken for the classic section, and none for the others.

When I arrived, I drove slowly, to see how the set up was, and was then directed by one of the organizers, into a parking lot opposite the classics section. His exact words were "There lots of parking over there", as if I was a spectator. The lot that I was directed to had a couple of muscle cars, not many, and all the spectators' daily drivers and a few junkers...NOT IMPRESSED!

Thankfully, some of my regulars showed up, and we went and parked in the old area and started our own showing. Eventually, our area filled up quickly too, with some nice cars.

These organizers really need to get their act together, or they will lose a lot of participants. I have nothing against the classics, I used to drive one myself.
However, the dedication to one era doesn't look good on them at all. Many other weekly shows that I attend, it's a free for all, everyone parks together, regardless of make, model, OR AGE of vehicle.

THE SEPARATION GAME HAS TO STOP! THEY'RE NOT THE ONLY SHOW IN TOWN.
WE ALL SHARE IN THE SAME HOBBY/PASSION.

Were you there last night? June 23?

I agree Frank.
You are not the 1st person who has noticed & said so.
Even last year it was becoming apparent to some others.

A lot of things have changed since beginning of last year; & some of it behind the scenes too.

I personally go...because it is local/close to me.
& like to see the people there.
But if people stop going...so will I :(

PS: I am not really a car show person (meaning my car is not a show car; it's a daily driver with all of it's battle scars to prove it :()...but go there to see people; & their/some cars.

Note: CCFBG is not part of the Street Classics cruise operations of the event.

Mike, don't under estimate the looks of your car; I think it's show worthy, and if only Pontiac didn't disappear it would bring more attention to the model. I've given you praise about your car since the first time I saw it.

I agree with attending the show, FOR THE PEOPLE, after all it's the people that make a show great. I will attend again to see if anything changes, but will make a final decision well before the end of show season...don't what to miss out on something better.

If you were the one with the yellow ZL I saw you leaving at the end. Perhaps we should set up a meeting spot next time on the forum. Sorry I missed you.

Mat, I know where you're going with this and you mean well. However, a large contingent of our group is made up of ALL generations of Camaro, Firebirds & Pontiac G8, not to mention the odd corvette or two.

This sounds like a great idea, then when we roll in we drive real slow, untill we get the attention of the organizers, and they wave us over to the other parking lot. Then we keep driving and park in our usual spot and start up our own show; we had a lot of people come by last week, to see our cars.

Actually, NO, but I didn't see the plates from where I was standing.

Is anyone going to this show this Saturday (Aug. 25th)?

Has there been any other drastic changes to this show, that I haven't already experienced this year? (i.e. less parking, new construction on site).

Is this show still at the Canadian Tire?, there were rumors that it was going to move to another location.

Hi Frank

Not sure if you been there recently...but the east side parking lot is now gone.
They have closed it off for the construction.

Parking spaces can be hard to find.
But I come late, after work on Saturdays.
Last Saturday I lucked out...the East End Posse Corvettes had left & I pulled in afterwards.

I was there "pre-construction fence" and "post construction fence", but no active construction had begun.

I was wondering about the conditions, since the construction started.
I'll see how things go and decide if I'm going to make an appearance.
Thanks Mike.
