Drag radials Q

Im picking up a set of NT555rs 295/45/18 how big of a difference is there going to be over a 275 Nitto Motivo. my fastest 60 to date is a 2.042 on them. as far as i know they are terrible all seasons with a 580 treadwear.

What kinda RPMs would you guys suggest to launch at with the 555r's. Am i dumping the clutch or rolling it out?

HUGE MASSIVE difference over the all season Nitto 275/40R20. Plus, did you mean the 305/45R18 Nitto NT555R? I don't think they make a 295/45R18 NT555R. Also, I know its more expensive but I would recommend the Mickey Thompson ET street 305/45R18 if you are putting these tires on track wheels. Will get better results with the Mickey Thompson. The NT555R is a great street tire for dry traction that can be used at the track. The Mickey Thompson is a great track tire that can be used on the street. See the difference?

Will the Nitto and the mickey Thompson both get about the same mileage if you street them or will the Nitto last longer?

Nitto 555R can last a long time they are also the hardest rubber compoind.
NT05Rs next.
M/T and MH's will last a lot less daily driven.

Ran a set of 555rs today at the track.

Needless to say, it'll prolly be the last set of 555s I do. They are great for daily driving but absolutely nothing like the hook of the 05rs.

I ran them at 22, 20, 18 psi. 18 seemed to work the best but, for me, they just didn't hook like I expected them to.

I had the same results. Made for a great street tire that could hook up decently while getting decent mileage and decent wet traction but seemed only a little bit better than a summer only max high performance street tire at the track.
