Edelbrock E Force Supercharger Installed and Tuned!
Picked the car up from Speed Engineering today after Jeff completed his custom tune for me, everything in drivetrain is stock except a Magnaflow axle back and of course the S/C 6lbs of boost, picked up 96 hp with the S/C and the Edelbrock tune and then another incredible 92 hp with the custom tune, also installed wideband and boost gauges. Mounting the CCW wheels tomorrow and will be adding a CAI as soon as someone has a kit for this S/C and also will be adding AMR Headers and a full 3" exhaust this summer. Im am very happy with this Supercharger kit and extreamly happy with the tune.
2SS M6 BMR subframe connectors, tunnel brace, trailing arms, toe link and diff bushings, Barton short throw shifter. |

that sudden drop is either when we hit the speed limiter or where we let off the throttle at red line, they both seemed to happen right about the same time in 4th gear. Yes it is an LS3.

92hp from the tune? WTF was wrong with Edelbrocks tune? Buffnshine, I would not even consider the Maggie over this SC IMO. I did alot of research on this blower when it was being built for the Mustang(as I used to own 1) and can tell you for sure that its a better blower.

is the second graph with the edelbrock tune? or no tune at all?
i'm very surprised at this 92HP increase with just a different tune

Adding 188 hp with just a blower (at 6psi) and mufflers is very impressive. 31 hp per pound of boost is as good as I've seen.....magical

I don't understand how the E-force could make 475 hp with the LS3 on the canned tune. That seems more like an L99 number. It's just seems odd is all I'm saying.
I noticed that your tune has your AFR really lean. At one point it pops up to the high 12's if I'm not mistaken. Are you sure you want to keep it that way? From what I understand, that lean state can contribute to higher horsepower, but is it good for longevity? On a good note, I notice that the E-force makes it's power along the same lines as the stock LS3 -- just more power. And I think that's a really good thing. Our cars were designed to have the power curves that come from the factory and with your kit you stayed consistent with those power curves, you just increased them... By a lot! haha Congrats on your blower. I'm sure you're going to love it. |
