Oh that's right - let's entirely ignore TWENTY EIGHT YEARS that the Camaro had taillights similar to the 2014 Camaro and say it's straight from a Honda Prelude.
These kids don't know about anything older than a mid 90's import. And most of them never heard of 'Camaro' before some terrible movie a few years ago.

The 14 tail lights look don't really look like any of those. It really doesn't look that much like the prelude it's it own thing but it isn't visually appealing like the 10-13 in my opinion. Thanks for reminding us how ugly the 80s-90s camaro was.

Say what? They're all the same general shape with just different lenses.

Aren't most taillights that general shape for the most part? IMO I don't really see it. The hideous 90s camaros looks absolutely nothing like that. Closest looking one was 78 but that's pushing it. You would have to use the photo shopped FAKE pic to relate the two. It's its own thing but it's ugly

Will have to agree to disagree with you on that one. The 90's Camaro taillights were still trapezoid shaped and wrap around the bumper. Yes they're more rounded than previous years, but that's just to go with the curved lines of the car. The 2014 taillights are definitely more like the late 2nd gen and 3rd gen with just a different lense, but it's still the same concept that the Camaro taillights have had since 1974 through 2002. Trapezoid shaped, wrap around the bumper.

PS - I think the 1993-1997 Camaro era is one of the best looking years of the Camaro. So obviously our opinions differ.

I wasn't a fan of the 98-2002 Camaro, but what actually put the Camaro into retirement was that it couldn't pass new crash regulation requirements that went into effect in 2003.

Production of the F-Body platform was stopped due to slowing sales, a deteriorating market for sports coupés, plant overcapacity, and stiff competition for sales from Ford's Mustang. Not crash tests. 4th gens were ugly couldn't compete if worth while they would of corrected the problem..

Although you copied that straight from the Wikipedia article, there was a lot more to it than just sales. Sales played a large part into it, but from what I've read on various FBody history sites it was not going to pass new regulations for 2003 and because of the slumping sales it didn't make financial sense to continue production. To each their own - 4th gen owners typically don't like 3rd gens, so I guess it's natural for 5th gen owners to not like 4th gens.

Hmmm....forgot about those. Sir...I stand corrected.
