I had the 2LT RS. It was a great car but if i had the choice between getting the V6 now or wait 19 months for a SS i would wait. Buying a V6 then deciding you made the wrong choice to get in the SS which i'm sure will happen in this case is a expensive adventure.

Blacknight,
if you have already owned an SS,I don't think the 2LT/RS will be satisfactory to you. As compared to the optima, the 2LT/RS will be a blast to drive but as compared to the SS, it could be a let down for you..depending on what your looking for in a car. I have a 2LT/RS convertible and absolutely love it.It has enough power for me as I don't go to the track and would never street race. The traffic where I live is too heavy most days/times so the 312HP/278 lbs torque in mine is more than enough for what I was looking for...only you can decide. good luck and let us know what you decide....hopefully you will be back in the saddle of a new camaro soon. |

Interesting your post made me look some things up. the way I judge a vehicle on its power is by its rated torque. I thought the V6 had more torque then that.
Hell...my 2.0L Turbo in my Optima has 274hp/269 ft/lbs of torque...so they might feel similar. who knows until i drive it though. Also comparing apples and oranges.....rwd vs fwd.... I appreciate all the thoughts in here guys.

the newer V6 camaro have increased hp to 323 but going by memory the torque is still the same at 278.I think still respectible numbers but well short of the SS.Again, IMO, if you aren't going to the track is the extra HP and torque necessary??only you can decide...But I must say the rumble from the SS exhaust is something to behold.Mine has a similar rumble when first started and then its quiet as a mouse. That is the only thing I might change later on(after the warranty periods),is put a performance exhaust on mine. |

lol@ at saying the v6 is pitiful. 323 hp on a v6 .....come on now. You SS guys paid 10,000 dollars more to go a couple seconds faster. WAH WAH. And most SS owners don't even use the track...so with that being said I can go 70mph just like you SS guys in my v6.

Lets not get into a pissing match over V6 vs V8. I went to the dealer. I drove the V6. I didnt like it. PLus they were gonna give me shit dealon the Equinox and the Payment was nowhere near what I talked about on the phone with my guy.
I walked out on them. Ridiculous. Don McCue Chevrolet. St. Charles, IL. Avoid. I will be finishing the lease out on my current vehicle. Then in 19 Months or so. I will be posting a "IM BACK B!TCHES" thread. It was fun for a thought. But I would rather spend the 2K on my Harley this spring.

I love my 2013 2LT/RS V6!
I've hit 128mpg and it's torque' as heck. Having a catch can, CAI, and MRT 2.0 exhaust installed in a few days. Plus I'm getting 22mpg....so whatever floats your boat! |
