Upgrade to RX catch can

Well last year RX came out with an upgrade to their catch can with respect to the empty valve. They now have a simple turn valve as opposed to the old screw in and out type valve. I ordered one when they came out but never had the time to install it. The other day when doing my prewinter catch can emptying the whole valve system came out when I tried to open it as i guess I overtightened it the last time I emptied it. As such I took the time to put in the new valve. If you are running one of the old valves this is a cheap and easy solution to make your catch can emptying that more enjoyable LOL

here are a few pics showing the new and old valves as well as the installation

Nice, that is so much easier. When I had mine I always seemed to have left the drain valve open after emptying the can haha

Not sure but under $20 if my memory is right just for the valve. i added a new hose and used a compressor nipple for the hose section

That looks like a much needed improvement, is it a standard off the shelf valve that you can buy somewhere?

Looks like a pretty standard NPT ball valve. You could pick one up anywhere, which makes me wonder why I haven't done that yet.

Yeah looks like it might be worth the time and effort to switch out!
