X2 and X3 install instructions
Anyone out there have the install instructions for the X2 and X3 wiring harness? I recieved the kit from ******** and either did not get them or misplaced them. I Got them now.
I have the old X3 harness and need to hook up the rca's as well, so if anyone knows which wires to solder that would be a big help. I've got the wire pairs figured out (red & blk w stripe and yellow & brwn w stripe) but not sure which wire goes on the center/outside post of the rca, or if it matters. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by BUMBLE-B-TUNA; 04-25-2011 at 10:14 AM. |

Here you go. Shouldn't be any need to solder.

I now have the instructions thanks to a friendly C5 member!. All I need now is some info on soldering the 2 rca connectors onto the spare wires. I have the old harness with just 2 rca connectors and need the additional 2 connected before I can proceed. Like I said before, I have the wire pairs identified, I just need to know which wire goes on which post of the rca (center or outside) or if it matters.

If anyone has the NEW harness in hand and could just unscrew the rca connectors to identify the wire colours, thats all I need. Please, Please, Please!!!

Was the power (+12v) connected before the connectors? Meaning was the main power connected first and then it smoked after you hooked the line levels in and speaker outs? Usually an amp smokes when you reverse the + and - main power input. I would be exceptionally leery of connecting a second amp in your case. Most places won't take back a smoked amp.

I connected the harness to the BA amp and then I connected my rockford amp to power my sub. The sub worked then the rockford amp started smoking and the sub still worked. I try the amp in my other car amp still works , no smoke come out . So I dont know why it did that in the camaro

You probably need a ground loop isolator to remove the dc in the line.

Hey Steve, want to chime in on the rca soldering issue? You probably know right off the top of your head. I'm sitting here waiting for a response, I can't proceed without the 2 other rca's.
