Wow my stomach would turn, I can feel your pain. I'm not sure what you mean by " should I repair or just give it up" so I'll just answer by what I would do. Take the car into a shop and get a quote for how much it'll take to fix. From there on decide if you'll pay or go through insurance. Make sure they check everything, not just the visual damage. My guess is it won't be something you're gonna want to pay out of your pocket, so most likely have to go through insurance. Good luck and all the best to you. It'll be good as new once it's done and you'll have a big smile on your face.

Is that a crinkle on the core support in the third pic? Also the damage to the rear axle is a huge concern. Most insurance companies need about 80 % value of the car to total. We had a Ranger that had very similar damage when it was three years old. It was very close to total but the estimate came in at less than 80% so they fixed it. I believe it was about 13k to fix. You need to get an estimate before you make any decisions. It's bad but it could be worse once they get underneath. I don't think it's totaled but you won't know until it's thoroughly inspected. Good luck to you and glad you weren't injured.

a 2014 1SS should still have a book value of about 30k at least. that looks ugly, but doubt it's anywhere near that amount in damage.

You don't need an estimate. Your ins co sends an appraiser to determine if they want
to fix or total. Did airbags go off? That makes a big difference. Re 80% totals cars, that's B/S. Each ins co has it's own guidelines. This car will bring more that 20% of it's value in salvage. There's lots more to consider, so get it to the repair shop and let the experts figure it out. Just my professional opinion.

Are you kidding ?
The OP himself said what happen , hit a standing water area , no tyre would have saved his lower back Besides those P-ZEROS are high performance summer tires , what else does one can expect to happen in a situation like that ? Don't blame the tires , blame the speed / driving conditions at that moment |

Doesnt look totaled to me but I could be wrong. If they fix the damage you will never feel the same about your Camaro, I would get it fixed if it isnt totaled then I would trade it for another. |
