Thumbs up ZL585 rear spoiler vs. modded SLP rear spoiler

My "blemed" ZL585 rear spoiler just came in. I took my modified SLP high lip spoiler and my new ZL585 spoiler and sat them side by side to do a comparison...

*** SEE POSTS #24 & #25 FOR PICS OF BOTH SPOILERS INSTALLED ***

This is an SLP high lip spoiler in it's original form:

And now for the ZL585 rear spolier:

First off, the "blems".... if you want to even consider them blems

^That's it. Just some minor scuffs that primer will take care of.

Now for the comparison...

There is only a minor difference on the ends but they look pretty darn close imo.

Looks awesome man. If I did not have everything wrapped up in my NLP ($755), I would do the same thing you did. I paid 350 for my NLP, 180 to paint, 165 for OEM trunk stripes, and 60 to have them installed to wrap over the spoiler.

Came out good, but I still like the look of the ZL like you have the best. Maybe I can get someone to buy mine and do what you did.

I am going to paint and install my new ZL585 spoiler. I plan on selling the SLP modded spoiler.

I do my own painting so not too expensive for me.

That's awesome... paint work can be expensive. I can't wait... i get my SLP splitter tomorrow. Hope the install is quick. I want to do it before Monday because i am going in for rotator cuff surgery. After that i will be out of commission for some time.

Good luck and a healthy recovery to you. You'll need to drill 10 holes in your bumper cover for that SLP splitter but it will look great...

They look great but man they are serious rock/dirt/leaf collectors. I was always trying to stay on top of it.... Never could. If there was some way to add a spacer and elevate that thing it would be sooo worth the time. Fortunately that was addressed on the ZL.

I didn't need to park under a tree to pick up some debri. Maybe I just drive my cars too hard.

Absolutely amazing how close you got it, dude. But like you said, it's in your nature to have the real thing. Enjoy painting it and post pics when it's on!

I'd take a ZL575 or a ZL585 in a heartbeat. The ZL1 is awesome too though, just out of my price range.

Thank you. I'm getting started on the prep work for the ZL585 spoiler on Wednesday and should have it painted and completed by Friday.

Now that I have received my new ZL585 rear spoiler from SLP, I am now noticing that when RPI design sent me the painted SLP rear spoiler last year, they shorted me some important seal washers that go on each screw to prevent water from entering into the trunk through the trunk holes. It also looks like they shorted me some 2 sided tape strips.

The ZL585 spoiler came complete with an install kit which includes seal washers and 2 sided tape. SLP hooked it up nice.

Hmm... mine didn't come with those things! :(

I have a roll of 3M automotive tape, so that's no big deal (though I'm having a hard time imagining where you place it - doesn't this bolt right on?).

What kind of seal washers are they and can they be bought somewhere?
