Mustang commercial

Been seeing a Mustang commercial a lot lately that mentions the Camaro. Mostly it claims the Mustang gets better gas mileage. Anyway, just had to post to say this commercial eats at me and makes me want my Camaro even more!

Yeah I saw it too. 1 MPG better. Not like you're going to notice the difference.

Well, Ford had to fight back with GM so they released their new motors both V6 and V8. The irony of course is that both of the motors in the Camaro are several years old and are due for their rehash in the next few years...

Different gearing and lighter weight basically are the difference here....however the new motors should increase both HP and MPG...

And again, we are talking 1 mpg difference anyways...

last week as an experiment I hit the highway for a 30 mile run reset my MPG meter and hit cruise at 69 mph at the end of the run i was right at 28.6 mpg
not bad. im sure if i backed down to 65 mph it would have gotten close to 30

I went to Pigeon Forge last this past weekend and got 26.8 both there and back. That is without cruise control and didn't hold any.

You say that 1 mpg doesn't matter, but try saying it when you're 1 mile from the gas station. Ford has to have something.

If anybody thinks for even one minute that Chevrolet wouldn't mention it if they could do 1mpg better, they're delusional. It's advertising, and it worked... folks are talking about it.

but you don't buy a car with better gas mileage in anticipation of running out of gas one mile away from a station. You pay attention to those numbers because of what they tell you about the overall FUEL ECONOMY of the vehicle OVER TIME.

In this case it wont be noticeable, the other posters are right. And you should fill up sooner than that, just sayin

Face it...The Mustang is a fine car, and arguably, more reliable than the Camaro. (Ford gets better build ratings than GM) That said, I would not trade my Camaro for a Mustang. Any maker would use ANY advantage in their commercials. I get 30 mpg, at 75 mph from Phoenix to El Centro, cruise on.
