If clay/towel the whole car and then spot polish any areas that you deem needing it. Once you've taken care of the micro scratches you would wax and seal.

I need either some new claybar or one of the new towels... I'll probably go with the towel.

Please give me the basic order of what to do first... I have one day and a porter cable...

I don't need show quality but I'd like to get rid of most of the microscratches and make the car easier to keep clean through the summer... if that's possible...

If you guys need me to post up a list of what I have I'll be glad to do so.

Thanks!

don't know what actual products you have but it's pretty much common sense..if the car is in good shape it gonna be:

dawn wash or prep solvent
clay w/lube
polish - use a mid level pad for abrasiveness, wipe/buff off as you go
seal/wax - use a softer pad for wax

I don't use glazes as they wash off - great for car shows, no good for DD's...

If I was new, I would not touch my car until I watched the orbital and product vids here:

Makes sense.... I've used my porter cable before after some wet sanding of my rear diffuser after I had it painted. And I've watched just about every video there is about using the porter cable, and I'll watch those you posted as well.

I'm thinking I'm OK with the porter cable.

I'm more concerned about the order and undoing the good work from previous steps.

Got it... There pretty much isn't a panel that I don't think is without micro scratches...

So seal then wax??? if I have both? and Glaze last should I choose to do so?

When I click your links it takes me to the main site. No big deal, I'll try these out thanks. They look similar to Adams single soft.

Hey GTAHVIT,

If you can spare me some gas money, I'd be happy to make the drive to St. Augustine and help out.

I've got TONS of products I can bring along with me and you can test whatever you want. Including the Rupes polisher as well as the Griot's Garage polisher.

Also, I'd like to think I'm decent at machine polishing

Let me know As it's summer before school, I got nothing better to do lol

Or alternatively, you can come to me!
