I've thought about that scenario. Personally, I will be inspecting the vehicle before writing the check. However, there is an upside to getting the financials done beforehand... no need to worry about it the day you pick the vehicle up! Aside from the convenience factor of getting paperwork done early, I'm sure it helps the dealer in some other way... such as getting the sale in before the end of the month or locking you into the sale (so you can't back out once you inspect the vehicle... because you already paid for it).

I don't think so... Told them they would get the check when I had inspected the car.

Have any of your dealerships tried this?

I ordered mine 2/28 and gave a check for a thousand to the dealership the same day. Yet they said they wouldn't do anything with the check until the car got here, and even after that they said they will give it back to me or put it towards the car, unless i backed out then they would deposit it!

Hello Oldag,

I definitely understand the steps your taking to investigate first. If you should need any assistance, questions or concerns about your vehicle while in service, I can reach out to your dealer ahead for you. Also, be sure to let us know how your dealership experience was. Here to help.

My order went from "Production Complete" to "Shipped/En Route" between 4:00am-5:30am eastern time. My guess is the status is only updated once a day.

Now told it is sitting at the factory waiting on a railcar. Chevy.com never updated.

Update on 4/20/13: Chevy.com showing shipped.

Anyone get their car yet or have a delivery date? My car appeared on my dealer's website sometime in the last few days. Hoping for delivery this week. No idea where the car is though as I've been told it is bayed, which could mean bayed at the factory or awaiting truck transport in NY.

My estimated delivery date was 4/26/13. But the actual departure date from Oshawa appears to be 4/19/13. So I doubt the 4/26 date will hold up.

I have been told that delivery takes about two weeks after the car is shipped.

My car is listed on the dealer's website now.

I went to my dealership today and my GM stated the car has been unloaded from the railcar as of Friday, he then requested it to be put on the next truck here but the guy stated he'd try his best. Anywho long story short he stated it would be here today but hasn't yet and then also stated that it could be dropped off after hours...SO next step get a good nights sleep and hopefully my car is sitting at the dealership tomorrow morning i believe i was the first of our week to be built and should be the first to receive it as well.

A little frustrating. Now being told the car is 4300, intermediate shipment to Whitby (which would be for stripes, if I am not mistaken). But the Chevrolet.com site shows shipped.

Who knows? I guess the car will show up some day.
