front licence plate holder

I know there are a lot of threads on this but mine is kind of specific. I would want my license plate mounted off center and able to detach from the bumper or fold underneath (not motorized)....I have a ZL1 Bumper.

http://shop.bigmikesperformanceparts...-ZL1-SNS26.htm

would i be able to mount this off center?

The image below is what I mean. That is a grand sport plate holder but I'd like to be able to detach it easier, or fold it underneath

IMHO, I think any of the fold away versions will move a bit while driving, and scuff up you splitter, spolier, bumper, etc.

$89.99 or $.50 for two black zip ties. I went with the zip ties. One year later and no issues.

Maybe get a universal plat holder from Auto Zone, put some rubber weather stripping on the contact areas, and use wall anchors to secure it through the lower grill. You'll still need a screw driver to remove it, but no holes.

This is what I use. http://eliminatorbracket.com/2010_Ca...nse_plate.html

It is detachable in about 2 seconds and requires no holes. Basically clamps discretely around your lower grill.

^ definitely a good option but I really wanted it to be off center and on the splitter

Show and go plate frame holder manual. I used it for a couple of years. Worked great.

If I was to go with the one pictured, I would run some foam weather strip along the contact point. Should hold up okay. I imagine the splitters will be taking a beating with stones anyway, so hopefully they have a tough finish.

I was looking at the show and go but then saw all the bad reviews on highway speeds

I would be even more concerned about this on your car, seeing as the splitter is pushing the plate out a couple of inches. Also, what's the point of a splitter? To pull air over the top of it. Right into your plate. Lots of buffering at highway speed, I would imagine.
I see you're in CT. I live in Milford, and have never been questioned about the plate...despite being puilled over a few times. Personally, I would risk the small ticket. Front plates are for mini vans

Stamford cops are real b busters. Be sure to set your cruise control to 40 when driving on HRR or LRR.
