LLT have a fuse pull mod?

Hi guys,

Maybe this has been asked before... or maybe I just don't understand why the L99 has this "fuse pull" mod. But do the LLT V6 Automatic have any benefits from doing this?

If there is, which fuses?

Thanks =D

No, because the LLT doesn't come with two fuel octane maps, like the L99 does.

If you decide to do it, it's fuses #5 and #20.

Generally most GM cars monitor the last 3 or 5 starts and adjust the ECM to the average of those parameters.

"No, because the LLT doesn't come with two fuel octane maps, like the L99 does."

I don't believe the above is correct. There is an algorithm in all ECM's to compensate for the various signals that are produced by all the sensors.

Still. There will be no benefit from the 5-20 fuse pull an the V6.

There will be if the driving style changes from the previous average runs. Especially regarding the Throtle position sensor.

I'm still not convinced of that. If it's there, it's there. If it's not, it's not. (outside of tuning anyway)

I've just not had anyone confirm this.

It especially changes the shift points if your driving style becomes more or less agressive than the previous average. Holds true on the cadillac CTS also.

I think the key is going to be someone getting into that V6 ECM and really picking it apart. Its pretty tight from the factory but there is always room for improvement.

I see... thanks for the clarification. I just needed to know. Sounded like it improved alot for the L99, so I wanted to know if it had benefits for the LLT. Thanks guys =)

The fuse pull or battery disconnect allows the volatile memory in the ECM/PCM to be cleared so that it can accept the new signals from the various sensors. (just like any computer)

I'm in a v6, if i went from 87 to 94 octane (I dont have 91... ) would pulling the fuses help? Because I feel my car is having no differences right now. Im wondering if reseting the ECM would help it notice the knew fuel. Anyone have any ideas? =p
