If Only 420 Hp?
If the Camaro SS will only get 420 hp will you tune the engine?
If you are thinking about it, Hennessey performance engineering will do it for you. Anything from 500hp. |

Absolutely. While that's a good amount of power, I need more. Hopefully, if a supercharged version doesn't make it, GM will offer a TVS1900 or 2300 through GMPP that I can bolt onto the car.

Screw Hennessey, if you have that much money to burn I say go Lingenfelter, that way you will actually get what you pay for. And considering what the LS3 puts down with just a cam swap there is no need to take it them for just 500hp.

If 420HP isn't enough for me, the first place I'll contact would be Tom Henry.

420 is plenty for me, although I'd love to put a cam in it for the loping sound... I just can't risk voiding the warranty, so it's a no-can-doer.

I'm with Chocolate, If when I receive mine and 420 just isn't what I'm needing.... I'm taking a trip to Lingenfelter performance.
they'll have a twin turbo version i'm pretty sure.... I'd love to see what kind of body kit they'll come out with for it. |

IS IT 2009 YET???
|
Cam is nice, but you'll enjoy (1) new gear ratios (4.10's) (2) Long tube headers + exhaust all the way back...
They say the gear change feels like an 60 - 80 HP improvment, then the headers and exhaust gives you the actual HP's and the rumbling V8 sound we all want...most don't do more than this. This can be done for less than 5g's and it feels and sounds like a beast! This is what all the Vette guys do to there LS3...they say its the best bang for your buck.

well, 422 is not bad, but i'm not about to spend 5-10 grand on a supercharger, headers and full exhaust system. I'll stick to some simpler bolt ons and computer changes--a custom tune, reprogram computer, a K&N CAI and a cat-back exhaust which may give me all together a modest 50 hp.

Even with the obscene weight, 422 should be more than enough. Besides, with the CARB police out looking for any excuse to steal your money, I figure its more worthwhile to go for suspension, braking, and most importantly weight reduction mods.

I'll at least tune the engine, but I don't know if I'll do that and upgrade cam, exhaust, etc. until after warranty though.

I'll pass on Hennessey as well. I have heard TERRIBLE things about them, and I've read even worse forum posts from John Hennessey himself. The man, if he can even be called that, will NOT have my business, that's for sure.

LPE performance is the only way I will go. STS sounds good, but a supercharger just says "blow me"!
